Saturday, April 30, 2005 It started off with a bang but ended up in fizzes... The turnout was higher than expected, which brightens up the atmosphere even more. The birthday girl was pretty much dressed up complete with a bouquet of flowers on one hand and presents on the other. While the guys were pretty much decently-dressed, the same could not be said for the ladies. They really know how to dress up for the occasion so much so until my poor pet turtle had his eyes glues to an innocent lady and had his tongue stuck out so much that I think his imagination had gone too far this time. That's when he realised that he's feeling the after-effects of my snap-of-the-fingers and started to feel the ground under him. Man, I miss that feeling... I was pretty surprised that we were greeted by a lady who was promoting about her, coincedentally, bbq-steamboat ala Seoul Garden shop. The decison was made and off we went in a private bus. For a second I thought my friends and I were going to star in next year's series of "Missing". Abduction was finally cleared off my mind when we reach the place, greeted by another lady who showed us the tables for us. Thanks to Aaron, we got one round of free drinks-iced lemon tea that is. Thanks to him also, we got an open-air table complete with soccer matches going on "live" in front of our eyes. Everything seems to perfect until the leaves from the trees above start to make their presence known to us. Oh well... I had to refrain myself from seafood as I'm allergic to eat but hey, life was better with meat and others. There's black pepper chicken, satay chicken, beef and other norms like the different types of edible balls, seriously okay, hot dogs and fish cakes. I pity the prawns that got into hot soup. They did nothing wrong, really, but were duly punished for no reason-boiled alive and occasionally, steamed alive. They tried to jump for safety but it was fated for them to be under the commands of my unruly mates today. The cockles fared worse. BBQ-ed until they were badly burnt and in the end, ended up in the dustbin. What a waste, in terms of food and their precious lives. As if there's not enough food on the table, Maggi Mee and eggs were thrown into the tom yam flavoured soup for our next round of attacks. Eventually, we scrambled for drinks instead of more food for our thirst were reaching to their points of saturation. We want more! We want more! Yeah yeah...the guys decided to unleash our potential that was never seen and therefore never polished-playing the DJ Remix machine in the arcade. Well, due to our brotherhood spirit and consideration of not wasting anybody's time, we utilised the machine fully by having almost everyone playing a 2-player game on that machine alone. So, use your imagination on how clever we were and also, how awkward our positions were in order to see the one screen that is our guiding light towards victory and glory. After numerous 50-cents being slotted into the slot machine, we only managed a "D" as our top score. Luckily we were the only ones in the arcade, thus the level of shame were greatly reduced. Then came the blow. Joanne's grandmother just passed away. Yeah, news passed on and condolences delievered. Such a pity. She was unlucky. I feel for you, girl. These things happen in life and sometimes you find yourself asking why is it happening on you and not others? I've yet to find the answer to that question. But till then, live life to the fullest. Never regret any decisons that you make 'cause they only make you wiser. Peace. |
