Living in Singapore is not as bad as what many thought it may be. We've got a "clean" government, no lack of facilities available to keep us a neck above our neighbours economically and technologically and an education system that is the envy of many countries. Yet here I am, grumbling and complaining about my life in this clean and green country. What the...am I too greedy or am I not opening my eyes big enough to see the piece of land that SM LKY literally developed? Actually, it's more of Singapore being a "fine" city.

Everywhere you go, you'll see rules. In the MRT, at your void deck, all around hawker centres, not to mention the toilet. You see, even when I'm negotiaiting a business deal, I can't seem to take my eyes off posters and signs that "educates" me on being more obedient, courteous or polite. The consequences are, my money's gonna be channelled to the Government'd fund. From there, the Government will use the money to create more world-class facilities for the benefit of the nation. NOT! Are Singaporeans that forgetful and brainless all the time? What does this show about our education system? Being the envy of others? Oh please...God have mercy on me.
And by the time your coffin lay to rest in the Earth, you'll realise that you've contributed more than half of your life savings to the Government. Taxes, fines, etc. What the heck.

All the talk of the nation not being creative is definately true. What do you expect us to do to widen our horizon or add more creative juices to our brain? Graffiti is very much hatred to youngsters in the eye of the law. BMX, skateboarding and roller-blading are very much restricted to the youth park and no where else better. And soccer training is best at the void decks, believe me, especially in the early stages of a kid. Yet, the demand for world-class atheletes and participation in events such as the X-Games are widely encouraged. C'mon, even geniuses have to have a platform to practice and hone their skills!

It's okay, let us excel in the game of catching and rounders. We will win colouring contests and be the champion of "three blind mice". Like how me and many of my fellow friends who have to follow our PE teacher's way of conducting his PE lessons, following the MOE's syallbus. Yeah, right. Go on and play frisbee and powerball.

Please Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, change the mindset of the Government. You are our only hope. I hope.
