I'm officially a Mapier now! Yes! I'm playing the game 'Maple Story' now! The game many called lame and stupid, including me. The very same game which you have to kill things like tree stumps, mushrooms and snails in order to boost your level and get money (or mesos in Maple terms) to buy better weapons and in layman's terms, to have a better overall outfit.

Else, you'll look like an Ah Pek with singlet, sandals and a baseball bat, just like how I started out with. Somewhat like this:

I don't know if the feminine side will look like those Ah Ma always hanging around at my void deck. That's soooo... traditional, I should say.

Online games galore! First there was 'Little Fighter', the came about 'Neopets' and now there's 'Maple Story'. The list just doesn't end, does it? But I'm just like any other guys too, getting their hands dirty on 'Warcraft', 'Counter-strike' and many others. It's just that 'Maple Story' has got me go KKEERRAAAAZEEE right now!!!

At first I thought it was troublesome. This was so true after I read the guides online. But after giving the game a shot, I'd say 'thrash those guides out of your window!' It's really much more simpler than I thought it is! But of course, I learnt on my own from experiences. I do learn some things late here and there, WHICH put me to a disadvantage at times back then but HEY I'm still alive and well right now! Hahah!

I don't know if boredom is the major factor driving me through the game. I mean, think about it. You go on killing snails and wild boars over and over again just to gain experience and level up. Signs of me being senile? I hope not! Of course when you get to buy your preferred weapons and armoury and give a one-hit kill to these 'monsters', I must say it's so shiok ah!

The concept of the game is simple if you haven't got the picture yet. Kill monsters. Earn mesos. Level-up. Buy weapons, armours, potions. Complete quests. Explore the maps. You can slooowly climb your way up 'cause you can reach till Level 100 and there are numerous quests and items that you can purchase.

Boring? Every one has their own preference, right? I played 'Neopets' too but pretty soon I found out that it wasn't for me. 'Gunbound', the 'Worms-Armageddon'-like game was also once a hit but I didn't jump onto the bandwagon. Yes?

(click on the picture to get a bigger picture if you can't see what's the picture that I have pictured.)

That's me, 'Leonite'. But I'm now a 'Warrior/Swordsman' rather than a 'Beginner'. And I have a much better outift than that, though I kinda missed that kampung-boy look. =) Fellow Mapiers must be laughing their hearts out after seeing 'me'. "Aiyoh, you so noob ah! I blablablablabla one time can kill so many monsters. You leh? HAHAHAHA!"

Actually I kinda missed 'Maple Island', the place where I started off with. Where everyone is around the same level as you are. Where everyone is so humble. Where we would be fighting 'monsters' together instead of blaming each other for stealing their kills. It is where I made my very first friend. Aaahh.. so nostalgic. And it happened only 2 days ago. Heheh.

I'm suppose to be somewhat like this guy on the right. A real warrior I suppose. But....

It's gonna take quite a while before I can be who I wanna be! =) (It's very hard to earn money, you know!)

And you think 'Maple Story' is all about small little monsters like this?

Wait till you meet these guys...

I think they are better off as loansharks or guards. It's better not to waste their talents in intimidating people.

Check out the website itself if you're interested. ;)
