Everyday, I do a countdown. A countdown to the time I break my fast. But today was a special day. I had 2 countdowns. Ever since my fasting month started, I have never have 2 countdowns in a single day. No, not even when I was eager anticipating the touch down of China's space shuttle (Not!).

As the clock ticks to 6pm, my hands were already strategically placed on my keyboard and mouse, waiting to click on the right links when the appropriate time comes. Call it 'kiasu', but I can't be blamed- I was brought up this way. So when the digital clock shows '6:00:00:', I hurriedly go on to register for my GEMs module.

"Click. Click. Click" And there I was, being in the state of 'kanchiong-ness' plus 'kiasu', wanting to get into the modules that I want. First time leh, still want to blame me ah? Furthermore, who wouldn't when SP says registration for the classes are in 'first-come-first-serve' basis? When they say you can be forced to go into a class that's not of your choice if you didn't choose quick enough?

(Actually SP is indirectly suaning your hand-to-eye coordination. Hence, your slow speed. -_-)

Stupid me. I thought I need to register all 4 GEMs modules at one go. Lucky for me, I didn't go on to register for a module under the 'Business & Mannagement'. Their modules are all oh-so-sucky. I went to search for the module 'Backpacking' first, under 'Arts & Humanities' and surprise, surprise!

The classes are all closed.

And what's the time on the digital clock?

6:00:30

WHAT!!! 30 seconds passed and all seats have already been snapped up! Impossible! Who on Earth is using a super computer, that is never heard of in this world, eh? Perhaps it's 'cause there are limited seats available. 60 to be exact. But SP promised that equal number of seats will be alllocated for the different timings, didn't they?

Just how many seats did they leave people, who are in the last time slot of 6-7 pm, like me? I really, really wanted that module. It's so darn cool and interesting to me. But when I get to know that my chances are all but gone in 30 seconds, I feel like playing Chop Suey's 'Fuck The System' song throughout SP through their PA system.

KNN. You call that fair ah?

Eventually, I settled for 'Better Pronounciation for Better Speech' under the 'Arts & Humanities' category. SP si beh lucky sia. If not I'll be drawing graffitti all over the fighter plane that's sitting comfortably at the Business block, smash the glass panels of the Convention Centre and write 'O $ P $ Singapore Polytechnic 6******' all over Dover MRT Station. If not, I'll go on protesting that their system IS indeeed really screwed up. Already, the online event happening during the JAE period had given me a fair amount of stress.

The gahmen think that our future can play play one is it?
