Friday, October 07, 2005 OMG! OMG! OMG! Everytime a new show airs on TV, I would be eagerly anticipating it. Whether I remained glued to my TV set or switch channels after the first commercial break, very well depends on the show itself. And today, 'Rouge' made its debut. Did it? I don't know. I watched it by chance and couldn't bother to care if it's the first episode or not. Irony of all ironies, huh? Let me summarize how I give my rating to this show. 1) The acting was so fake and plastic that I think the guy, who has a cameo appearance of dashing across in one scene, deserves to win the 'Best Actor' award rather than the main characters. 2) Put 4 so-called 'babes' and one so-called 'hunk' together and what do you get? A drama serial trying to boost its viewership ratings by taking advantage of looks and other aesthetical-related stuffs. And did I mention they are doing it DESPERATELY? 3) Surrounded by 4 'babes' who most of the time, credit must be given to Pierre Png, who plays the male leading role, for being able to focus his attention... appropriately. Still, I wonder how many NGs (no-good takes) must he go through before the director is satisfied. (C'mon lah, I think even the director wants to get over and done with it fast. Maybe it's the money factor that drives him through.) In one scene... Night falls and 2 'babes' we're tracking a suspected criminal who leads them to a brightly-lit park. There, they were shocked to find 4 men practising some martial arts moves. To avoid from being spotted, they hid behind a tree... "Oh no! A terrorist training camp! exclaimed one 'babe'. "I knew it all along. Come we have to report back to the others," went the other, full of confidence. Just as they were about to leave, one of the 'terrorists' came into view and grab hold of a 'babe'. Sensing immnent danger, she immediately turn back and was shocked to find... someone familiar. "Pam...? the 'terrorist' was caught surprised. And he went on treating Pam like how terrorists would NOT treat their hostages. I'm supposing but I think everyone can tell how 'unterrorist-like' they were. BLAH!!! How low can the quality of local drama serials stoop? Okay, perhaps I'm a little too blunt here. Chinese drama serials are at least better. Though I'm only aided by subtitles, at least their storylines can keep me stick to the TV for once. The funny thing is, I watched 'Rouge' till it ends. Perhaps I was practising my new skill of sleeping with my eyes open. Fitri is surely a guy full of ironies. That's what he really is. You still want my rating for this show? |
