Though it is a rather common sight, I only began to notice its significance lately. It's either I have been sitting under the big 'ol rock for too long a time, unknown to the things happening around me. Or the rise of it has been sharp. Way too sharp.

Ever seen a mixed relationship? Not a lesbian-gay kinda thing but rather a mixed-race one.

Malay guy with Chinese girl, Indian lad with a Malay lady. It's kinda nice to see that we're 'mixing' well with each other. Amidst all these talks of terrorism, it's pretty heartening to see that racial harmony is still going on strong in Singapore.

But at the back of my mind, somehow, I feel that the PAP has 'employed' some couples to do so. The General Elections, remember? I guess people wanted fresh things after being dished with expansionary fiscal policies everytime a GM approaches. Haha, thanks Econs.

But that's beside the point. Before I kena sued for slender, I'd like to make it clear that that was just a thought of my wandering mind.

Still, I'm puzzled. By the drastic increase.

It's so sudden! Out of the blue, I see these mixed couples everywhere! In the trains, along Orchard Road, under the void decks, everywhere!

Seriously speaking, why do people go for a partner that is NOT of your own race? I bet that out of 10 mixed couples, only 2 will remain together for long. Of which 1 is out of true love.

The other pair? Well the last time I met them, they said they've broken up. 'cause they're sick of each other already. Maybe the girl doesn't want to eat prata for breakfast everyday and the guy had enough of chee cheong fun and all.

Not to be a racist here but admit it people, you go for someone that's not of your own race just because you wanna have a taste of it. And don't imply that being together with a person of the same race as you are will guarantee you eternal love! It's a case-by-case basis, geddit?

Who wouldn't wanna date someone a Caucasian if you had the chance to? You know it would just be a fling but hey, at least that can go into your personal resume!

I bet girls would go for (enter name) if he said he would wanna have a chance to date a Singaporean girl.

Just make sure you promote Singapore to him, if you're that lucky girl. Tourism plays a big part in Singapore's economy, you see.
